Mikel Arteta has called on his Arsenal team to break a longstanding streak and secure a victory at Anfield, a feat they have not accomplished in 11 years.
On Saturday, the Gunners will face Liverpool with the understanding that a win would put them in first place on the Premier League table for Christmas.
However, in order to accomplish this, the visitors must break a streak of results dating back to September 2012, which saw them win 2-0 with Arteta playing in the Arsenal midfield.
Earlier this week, the Spanish manager celebrated his fourth year as the leader of Arsenal. In that time, he has successfully led the team to victories against Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham. This season, they also defeated Manchester City at their home stadium, Emirates Stadium.
Arteta’s next task is to secure three points at Anfield. He stated, “We have achieved it at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge, as well as other venues where we haven’t been successful in years.”
“This is our next challenge. We must strive to succeed in this endeavor. In order to reach the top, we must assert ourselves in these locations. That is our goal.”
Last year, Arsenal had a 2-0 lead at Anfield, but ultimately ended up with a draw after being equalized.
Before that journey, Arteta had referred to Anfield as a “jungle.” In the documentary ‘All or Nothing’ set in the Amazon, he can be seen playing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” while his team trained. However, this ultimately resulted in a 4-0 loss to Jurgen Klopp’s team.
Arteta mentioned that it will be a fantastic environment.
Both teams are currently performing well and in a strong position to potentially win. The upcoming match is expected to be highly competitive.
You must perform at a higher level than your opponents. If you are superior to them, you will quiet the audience.
We did not handle some aspects well in the previous season, particularly in allowing certain situations to occur. We need to improve and correct these areas because when our opponents have momentum and space, they can be a formidable team. However, we missed some crucial chances to seal the game after these moments. It is important to take advantage of these opportunities when they arise.

“They have been through this for several years. This current group of players has already visited Anfield three or four times.”
Several years ago, it was the initial experience for the majority of them and perhaps you need to clarify and provide further explanation. However, I do not believe that is currently needed.
