After six years, Alex Batty, a British boy who was reportedly abducted, has been located in France.
Adolescent Alex Batty admits to fabricating his story about fleeing France in order to shield his mother and grandfather – while also sharing details about reuniting with his grandmother.
At the age of 17, he attracted global attention after being found walking alone on a remote road in Toulouse. This occurred six years after he was reported missing while vacationing with his mother, Melanie Batty, and grandfather, David Batty.
At first, he claimed he had been hiking for four days prior to being discovered.
During an interview with The Sun, he admitted that he fabricated the story in order to shield his parents from getting arrested by the authorities. He stated, “I wasn’t actually lost. I was fully aware of my destination.”
The adolescent also expressed his desire to go back to his grandmother, Susan Caruana, who is his legal guardian, in order to attend college. He shared that his reunion with Ms. Caruana and other family members was filled with strong emotions.
“I have been dishonest.”
In a recent interview with The Sun, Alex Batty admitted to lying in order to protect his mother and grandfather. However, he now realizes that they will most likely be caught despite his efforts, as he was found after disappearing six years ago.
Alex clarified that his real trip was a two-day hike, despite earlier claims. He pretended to ask for directions in Quillan before making his way to Toulouse.

I began considering the idea of leaving when I was around 14 or 15 years old.
According to Alex Batty, he began considering leaving his mother and grandfather after he disappeared on a trip to Spain with them when he was 13 years old.
He stated that he came to the realization that it was not a beneficial way to live for his future. The fog had cleared as he began to reevaluate the advantages and disadvantages of living in England.
If I had stayed with my mother, I would have been uncertain about my future. However, based on the past few years, I have an idea of what my life would have been like.
“Constantly on the go. Without any companions or social activities. Devoted to work and not pursuing education. That is the lifestyle I envisioned if I had stayed with my mother. It would remain unchanged, whether in France or Spain.”
“In a remote mountain location with no peers of my age, I spoke to my grandfather at the age of 16 about returning to England.”
What was the reason for his escape?
Alex shared with The Sun that he yearned for a more secure future and the opportunity to pursue his dream of becoming a software engineer motivated him to leave behind their nomadic lifestyle in the French Pyrenees.
He mentioned that living a nomadic lifestyle with his mother and grandfather made him realize that it was not a suitable way to live for his future.
According to him, remaining with his mother would mean constantly relocating, having no friends or social life, and focusing solely on work without pursuing education.
