Pep Guardiola acknowledges that the responsibility falls on him to provide the “wake-up call” that can revive Manchester City’s campaign.
The team that won the treble has struggled in the past few weeks, with back-to-back draws against Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham in the Premier League, followed by a loss to Aston Villa on Wednesday.
The City team aims to return to their successful streak as they journey to Luton this Sunday.
The manager, Guardiola, stated that he is capable of handling the pressure and is determined to assist the team in their comeback, although he is unsure of how exactly he will do so.
“Is it sufficient? I am unsure. The competitors are formidable, which is why I must be prepared and have confidence.”

“Occasionally, after achieving victory, the desire to replicate it arises, yet it remains unfulfilled. Why? Perhaps because of the complacency that comes with winning frequently – sometimes, a wake-up call is necessary.”
I am unsure of how we will respond, but this will be a challenge for the team to overcome the situation.
As the leader, it is my responsibility to assist my team. They rely on me and it is crucial that I am present to provide the appropriate guidance, instruction, communication, and strategy for success.
Guardiola referenced cooking to illustrate how City’s current streak can add flavor to their season, and he encouraged his team to fully enjoy their victory if they win at Kenilworth Road.
“When you win a lot it is another macaroni pasta to eat,” the Spaniard said. “The last six months just macaroni, macaroni.
“It’s important to acknowledge the difficulty of the situation. If you are able to succeed at Luton, it’s truly impressive. This is a positive outcome and credit should be given for it.”
We don’t only acknowledge our strengths when we win the semi-finals of the Champions League.
“Let’s acknowledge our efforts in every game and take pride in our accomplishments. We used to have that mentality, and we need to regain it.”
