A major police update has revealed the two missing sisters from Aberdeen had visited the bridge where they were last seen just hours beforehand.
Fresh CCTV footage has emerged showing Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, both 32 and part of a set of triplets, at the Victoria Bridge over the River Dee at around 2.50pm on 6 January, with both seen wearing rucksacks.
Officers said they spent five minutes there before making their way through Aberdeen city centre, via the Union Square shopping centre, back to their flat in the Charlotte Street area.
Hours later, at around 2.12am on 7 January, separate CCTV footage captured the last sighting of the pair in Market Street at the same bridge, which they crossed before turning right onto a footpath next to the river, heading in the direction of Aberdeen Boat Club.
Police Scotland continues to appeal for help finding the siblings, who are originally from Hungary, while their family issued the desperate plea: “All we want is for them to be found.”
One theory officers are considering is that the sisters somehow entered the water, and extensive search efforts – involving the force’s helicopter, dog branch and marine unit – have been focusing on the river and surrounding area.
The force added that there is nothing to suggest criminality in relation to their disappearance.
After the siblings were reported missing from their home in Aberdeen city centre, their brother Jozsef Huszti said it was “strange” the pair had not told their relatives they were planning to move out of their flat.

Police superintendent issues statement as officers trawl through hours of CCTV
Officers continue to trawl through hours of CCTV footage in the search for the missing sisters, Police Scotland have said in a statement issued in their update on the case.
Superintendent David Howieson said on Friday: “We have carried out a significant trawl of public and private CCTV footage as we try to establish the sisters’ movements.
“Several hours of footage are being examined by a dedicated team of officers and we have so far established that Eliza and Henrietta were at the footpath next to the River Dee at 2.50pm on Monday 6 January, 2025.
“Although the sisters didn’t engage with anyone else at this time, the area would have been busy and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen them.
“Please think back, did you notice anyone matching their description?
“After returning home, there is nothing to indicate that Eliza or Henrietta left their flat again until shortly before they were last seen at the River Dee.
