A female passenger alleges that American Airlines only offered $50 as compensation for an incident where she had to clean up vomit from an intoxicated woman’s belongings during the flight.
On Monday (December 4), Nicole Schreib posted a video on Twitter/X with the message, “@AmericanAir let this drunk, verbally aggressive woman board my flight even though they had removed one of her friends. Here she is insulting the two men in her row and then vomiting on the floor and my luggage. They only offered a $50 credit as compensation.”
The video shows a woman with blonde hair resting her feet on the seat in front of her. She can be heard saying, “You are both cowards,” to the two men sitting in the same row as the woman who was being verbally abusive, as reported by Schreib.
“American Airlines responded on social media, expressing regret that the resolution of your claim did not meet your satisfaction. You can request a review by replying to the most recent email they sent.”
The ultimate decision rests with Customer Relations. If you have any additional concerns, please contact them directly.
In a subsequent post on Twitter, Schreib stated that she was only offered $50 as compensation for her unpleasant flight experience, which involved cleaning up someone else’s vomit from her belongings. She also mentioned that the person responsible for the incident was visibly intoxicated and behaved rudely and aggressively even before the flight took off.
The Independent has contacted American Airlines for a response.
This is not the initial occurrence of passengers coming into contact with bodily fluids within the aircraft cabin.
In September, a Delta flight had to change course due to a passenger experiencing persistent diarrhea on the entire plane.
Flight 194 had to quickly turn around and return to its starting point due to being deemed a “biohazard” by the crew.
Earlier this year, a traveler on a flight with Air Canada alleged that the airline removed two female passengers from the plane when they voiced concerns about occupying seats that had vomit on them.
The woman who posted about the incident on social media stated that they were given the option to either arrange and pay for their own flights or be escorted off the plane by security and potentially placed on a no-fly list.
