Neighbors on a dead-end street in east London reported hearing the daughter of the victim scream after a deadly shooting occurred on Tuesday evening.
Police have initiated a homicide inquiry after a shooting in Hackney, London resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to two individuals, one of whom is a teenager.
Police were alerted to a shooting in Vine Close on Tuesday evening at approximately 6:30pm.
Three individuals were discovered with injuries from gunshots. Sadly, one of the victims, a 42-year-old woman, passed away at the location where she was found.
The Metropolitan Police reported that two additional individuals, a 20-year-old male and a 16-year-old male, were transported to the hospital for evaluation of their conditions.
There have been no arrests.
One of the neighbors, who was outside the police barricade on Wednesday morning, reported hearing the victim’s daughter screaming after the incident occurred.
She stated that three gunshots were discharged and she was acquainted with the deceased woman. However, she was unsure of the individuals involved in the incident, a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, who sustained injuries.
“This tragic event has caused the loss of a female life and my condolences go out to her family during this extremely challenging period. My thoughts are also with the two individuals who have been transported to the hospital,” expressed Detective Superintendent Vicky Tunstall of the Hackney local police team.
She stated: “I am aware of the significant impact that this incident will have on the residents of Hackney and I acknowledge that the community will have questions regarding the events of this evening. We will provide more details as our investigation continues.”
