Sky Sports has secured the rights to broadcast a minimum of 215 Premier League games per season, in a domestic deal worth an unprecedented £6.7 billion.
The broadcaster acquired four out of the five packages available in the league’s most recent bidding for domestic broadcast rights beginning in 2025-26. TNT Sports obtained the remaining package, which includes 52 games.
According to sources, Amazon has decided not to submit bids for the new packages offered by the league for broadcasting 20 matches per season, including this week’s fixtures. The current deal with the league will continue until the end of the 2028-29 season.
The Premier League announced that the value of the agreements being disclosed, which also include non-live rights, is £6.7 billion, making it the biggest sports media rights deal in UK history.
The current agreement for live television broadcasts, set to continue until 2024-25, has been estimated to be valued at £5 billion for the three-year period.
The recent agreement with Sky states that they will now show up to 100 additional matches per season, as announced by the broadcaster. They will also continue to air the important Super Sunday 4.30pm time slot and will be the exclusive broadcaster of all 10 final-day matches, a first for them.
TNT’s agreement allows them to continue airing games on Saturdays at 12:30pm and provides complete coverage for two midweek rounds of matches.
For the first time ever, all games not scheduled for 3pm on Saturdays will be broadcasted live, including those rescheduled to 2pm on Sundays due to midweek European matches. There is currently a discussion about potentially ending the blackout of TV coverage for women’s games during the 3pm time slot.
Match of the Day will continue to broadcast highlights for all 380 Premier League matches over the next four seasons.
Richard Masters, the chief executive of the Premier League, expressed his joy in announcing extended agreements with Sky Sports and TNT Sports. These new deals will continue our partnership for four more years and will result in a larger number of live Premier League games being broadcasted from the 2025/26 season.

Sky Sports and TNT Sports are well-known for consistently providing exceptional coverage and programming, making them highly respected partners.
“Our viewership and attendance numbers have reached unprecedented levels in recent seasons, and we are confident that their ongoing advancements will attract even more viewers and followers of the Premier League.”
We are thrilled to announce that we will be continuing our partnership with BBC Sport to provide weekly highlights of all Premier League games to viewers across the UK.
“Match of the Day has been a long-standing tradition for countless soccer enthusiasts in our nation and continues to be highly favored among fans of every age.”
“The success of this procedure highlights the robustness of the Premier League and serves as a testament to the efforts of our clubs, players, and managers who consistently provide the most competitive football in the world in full stadiums. This is also a tribute to the supporters who create an unparalleled atmosphere every week.”
TNT Sports has acquired Package A, which consists of 52 matches that will kick off at 12:30pm. This package includes 18 second picks, 14 fourth picks, and all 20 midweek rounds in the fourth and fifth spots throughout the season.
Sky has secured B, C, D and E, with Package D being the one featuring the Sunday 4.30pm kick-offs and 18 first picks, along with the final-day action live.
Four packages was the maximum any single broadcaster could buy, and despite the number of live games increasing from 200 to circa 270, the matches were split between fewer packages compared to the previous rights cycle.
Amazon’s decision not to bid was due to the difficulty of utilizing a premium, high-volume model within their Prime subscription service, as well as the composition of the packages.
