Several top athletes from Britain are being considered for the title of BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2023.
The yearly prize will mark its 70th anniversary with the traditional star-studded event.
In addition to the main award, which was received by English soccer player Beth Mead last year, several other accolades will be distributed.
They include the hotly contested World Sport Star of the Year and the Helen Rollason award, which recognises “outstanding achievement in the face of adversity”.

When will the Sports Personality of the Year Awards take place?
The 2023 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, December 19th at Media City in Salford.

British viewers can tune in to BBC One and the BBC iPlayer to catch the awards ceremony live. The broadcast will run from 7pm to 9pm GMT and will be hosted by Gary Lineker, Clare Balding, Gabby Logan, and Alex Scott.
