Joao Felix reversed the actions of his original team, scoring in the first half to secure a 1-0 win for Barcelona against Atletico Madrid at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium.
In the 28th minute, Felix skillfully lifted the ball over goalkeeper Jan Oblak to score, helping Xavi’s team move up to third place in the LaLiga standings. They now have a four-point lead over Atletico and are trailing behind leaders Real Madrid and second-place Girona.
Sevilla tied 1-1 against Villarreal at their home stadium, Hector Bellerin received a red card in the 27th minute during Real Betis’ scoreless draw at Almeria, and Mallorca and Alaves also ended in a goalless tie.
Kylian Mbappe was the driving force behind Paris St Germain’s 2-0 win against Le Havre, despite being a man down. This victory puts them four points ahead of Nice in the Ligue 1 standings.
In the 10th minute of the match, PSG’s goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma received a red card for making a high challenge on Josue Casimir, leaving his team with only 10 players.
In the 23rd minute, Mbappe scored and put the visitors in the lead. Despite the hosts’ efforts to tie the score, Vitinha unexpectedly scored in the 89th minute, securing three points for his team.
Lille’s goalkeeper, Lucas Chevalier, stopped two penalties during their 2-0 victory against Metz at home. The 22-year-old blocked Simon Elisor’s shot, and Lille scored two goals in the first half’s extra time, thanks to Yusuf Yazici and Jonathan David. This gave Lille a comfortable lead.
Chevalier once again displayed heroic efforts as he successfully blocked Lamine Camara’s penalty 10 minutes into the second half, securing a win for the home team.
Monaco, who are in third place, are trailing Nice by two points after a 2-0 victory against Montpellier, who had Boubakar Kouyate ejected in the second half. In other matches, Brest defeated Clermont 3-0 and Toulouse tied Lorient 1-1.
Marseille triumphed over Rennes 2-0 in front of their home crowd, with both teams reduced to 10 players. Christopher Wooh was sent off for Rennes just after the hour mark, followed by Iliman Ndiaye’s dismissal soon after.
Marseille’s first two goals were scored by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a penalty kick and Azzedine Ounahi, both before the red cards were given.
Inter Milan regained their spot at the top of Serie A, surpassing Juventus, after securing a 3-0 victory against reigning champions Napoli. The goals were scored by Hakan Calhanoglu, Nicolo Barella, and Marcus Thuram.
Roma’s Rasmus Kristensen secured the victory with a goal, after his team overcame a deficit to defeat Sassuolo 2-1.
In the first half, Matheus Henrique scored a goal for Sassuolo, but things took a turn for the worse in the second half when Daniel Boloca was ejected and Paulo Dybala scored a penalty. Later, Kristensen added another goal.
Lucas Beltran scored a penalty kick and Fiorentina won 3-0 against Salernitana thanks to additional goals from Riccardo Sottil and Giacomo Bonaventura. Meanwhile, Udinese and Verona ended in a 3-3 draw.
Bologna appeared to be on track for a win against Lecce, but ultimately ended up with a tie after Roberto Piccoli’s penalty in the 10th minute of extra time in the second half negated Charalampos Lykogiannis’ goal in the 68th minute.
Borussia Dortmund had the opportunity to overtake fourth-ranked Leipzig in the Bundesliga with a crucial win against current leaders Bayer Leverkusen. Julian Ryerson gave the visitors an early lead with a goal in the fifth minute, but Victor Boniface equalized in the second half to secure a draw.
In other matches, Augsburg defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 and Freiburg emerged victorious with a 1-0 win against Mainz.
