Mikel Arteta stated that several managers from the Premier League had reached out to him following his charge by the Football Association for remarks made after Arsenal’s 1-0 loss to Newcastle earlier this month.
Arteta criticized the officials for choosing not to reverse Anthony Gordon’s goal, calling it “completely unacceptable.” He now waits to learn the severity of his consequences.
Arteta stressed that he and his fellow managers were united in their efforts to address issues with officiating in the Premier League.
Arteta stated that he has been in communication with numerous individuals, most of whom he has known for a long time, and that they are all united in this situation.
”
“We may be in competition, but we recognize our individual roles and the importance of fulfilling our responsibilities to the best of our abilities.”
“All of our actions must be carefully considered and executed with a well-established process to ensure that we are making positive contributions.”
“We hold both group and individual meetings with officials, and a variety of events occur during these meetings.”
There was backlash against Arsenal for their public statement in support of Arteta’s remarks, which was issued at the beginning of this month.
The manager of the Gunners stood by his opinions, attributing his strong reaction to emotions. Some had argued that his comments would set a bad example for how to treat referees.
Arteta expressed his frustration with being judged based on one instance where he shared his belief and later used it differently, despite having given numerous opinions in the past. He believes this is unfair.
“We experience the game with passion. I respond when a player scores a goal. I react when a player loses possession of the ball. Our actions are ever-changing – this is the nature of the game.”
“We engage in a passionate game where the goal is to win, so it’s natural for us to respond and react accordingly.”
“Let’s take a seat here, as if we’re at a theater, and remain silent to see if this match and league will capture our attention. Spoiler alert: it won’t. But that’s what makes it unique.”
Aaron Ramsdale will be the starting goalkeeper for Arsenal’s match against Brentford on Saturday evening, as David Raya is unable to play against his former team due to eligibility rules.
According to Ramsdale’s father, the goalkeeper has not been smiling since Raya took over as Arsenal’s top choice in the summer.
Arteta expressed the behavior he expects from players who have lost their place in the team.
He stated that Aaron is among the several players who are not getting enough playing time. Unfortunately, this is the case for many players in a dressing room with 24 players.
We expect our behavior to involve challenging one another and helping each other improve.
The intention is to prove and surpass one’s skills by demonstrating with evidence that one must play and demonstrate more in order to show how mistaken I was for not selecting him.
