The Lionesses will aim to return to their winning streak as they play against Belgium in the Women’s Nations League match tonight in Leicester.
The team that won the European championship and came in second in the World Cup beat Scotland in Sunderland to start their Nations League journey. However, they experienced only their third loss under Sarina Wiegman when they were defeated 2-1 by the Netherlands.
England is now ranked third in Group A1, with a double-header against Belgium coming up. Belgium is currently in first place with four points after winning against Scotland and drawing with the Netherlands.
The Lionesses need to secure a victory in their group in order to progress to the Nations League Finals. After that, they must also advance through the semi-finals to secure Team GB’s spot in next summer’s Olympic Games in Paris.

Fran Kirby has been included in Sarina Wiegman’s squad for the upcoming England matches, potentially marking her first appearance for the team since October. Kirby had to sit out the World Cup due to knee surgery, but is now poised to rejoin the midfield. Keira Walsh, who was absent from last month’s fixtures, has also been called back to the squad.
