In December in Los Angeles, there will be an event for the first two days that will honor Robots, Wizards, Heroes & Aliens from popular movies spanning from the 1950s to present day.
One of the top items up for auction is an authentic animatronic head used in Steven Spielberg’s 1982 movie E.T. The Extra Terrestrial.
The artwork, designed by special effects expert Carlo Rambaldi, is anticipated to sell for approximately $800,000 to $1,000,000 (£653,000 to £797,000).
During the sale, the B-9 Robot from the 1960s sci-fi show Lost In Space will be included, with an estimated value of 300,000 to 500,000 dollars (£239,000 to £398,000).
A robe that was worn by the late Richard Harris in his role as Albus Dumbledore in the 2002 film Harry Potter And The Chamber of Secrets is expected to sell for 50,000 to 70,000 dollars (£39,000 to £55,000). Additionally, his gold-tone glasses could potentially sell for 10,000 to 20,000 dollars (£8,000 to £16,000).
A recently refurbished Batman suit, worn by Michael Keaton in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns, is one of the most valuable items up for auction. It is expected to sell for 50,000 to 70,000 dollars (equivalent to £40,000 to £55,000).
Additionally, there will be a selection of never-before-seen paintings by Burton, including an original piece showcasing the villain of Batman, known as The Joker Steals Christmas. This work is estimated to be worth 60,000 to 80,000 dollars or £48,000 to £64,000.
Martin Nolan, co-founder and executive director of Julien’s Auctions, said: “We are excited to announce the first two days of our Hollywood Legends auction event curated with our esteemed partner TCM that encompasses an incredible array of marquee items from the worlds of sci-fi, contemporary, classic and blockbuster franchises representing some of the biggest and most popular films and television shows of all time.
