It seems that Victoria Beckham is taking advantage of her popular “Rolls-Royce” statement by releasing a £110 t-shirt that says: “My father owned a Rolls-Royce”.
In a popular scene from the newly aired Netflix show Beckham, Victoria stated that she originated from a “working class” upbringing, despite being chauffeured to school in a Rolls-Royce by her father.
The series “Beckham” follows the journey of former soccer star David Beckham as he becomes famous and wealthy, while also delving into his marriage to Spice Girls member Victoria and their expanding family.
After a video of the “Rolls-Royce” scene gained popularity on social media, many people were quick to note that Victoria has been famously referred to as “Posh Spice” for quite some time.
Now, Victoria has gone a step beyond that viral moment and released a T-shirt through her own fashion brand. The garment, a basic white T-shirt with the phrase “My dad had a Rolls-Royce” in bold black letters, is being sold for £110.
The description for the product on the Victoria Beckham website states that the T-shirt with the slogan “My Dad Had A Rolls-Royce” is made from gentle, eco-friendly cotton and reflects the brand’s fun and lighthearted nature.
This piece features dropped shoulder seams and a timeless crew neckline for a comfortable yet sophisticated look.
In the Netflix series, Victoria discussed her family and upbringing with the interviewer, stating: “We come from a very working class background.”
“Tell the truth,” David interjected, confronting her.
Despite Victoria’s insistence on her honesty, the ex-England footballer remained unconvinced.
David asked her, “Which car did your dad use to take you to school?”
Victoria tried multiple times to avoid answering the question directly, stating: “It’s not a straightforward response, it varies!”
Yet, upon multiple repetitions of the inquiry by David, the vocalist responds: “Alright, during the 1980s, my father owned a Rolls-Royce.”
David expresses gratitude before exiting through the door again. Starting in October 2023, Rolls-Royce vehicles will be sold for a price of £252,000.
Following the widespread sharing of a clip from this particular scene, many have commended the couple’s lively dynamic and David’s determination in persuading Victoria to disclose the truth about her father’s vehicle.
One amused viewer commended Beckham for being honest and authentic.
Nevertheless, some have expressed disapproval of Victoria’s assertion that she grew up in a working class environment, given her ability to afford luxurious modes of transportation.
Many British people believe that if you are not a member of the landed gentry, you are considered “working class” and not taken seriously, according to a tweet.
